Best Wishes to Dr. Joe Frolkis
July 1, 2021
One of Tufts Medicine’s esteemed senior leaders – Joseph Frolkis, MD, PhD – will retire from his role as NEQCA CEO and President on July 2, 2021 after leading the Network since 2016.
NEQCA’s many successes in recent years would not have been possible without Joe’s steady hand at the helm. He has led a talented team to build NEQCA into a national leader in population health management and value-based care delivery.
During Joe’s tenure, NEQCA’s Accountable Care Organization consistently performed in the nation’s top 20 percent for quality and cumulatively earned $23 million in shared savings. Joe made it a priority to augment NEQCA’s population health services by adding full‐time medical directors, expanding care management programs, and introducing a market‐leading software platform to help providers enhance patient care quality and affordability. As a result, few physician networks in Massachusetts rival NEQCA for the strength of its payer contract performance.
Additionally, Joe created the NEQCA Leadership Academy from which more than 100 physicians, clinicians, and administrators have graduated with skills to strengthen leadership capabilities across the Network.
The hallmark of Joe’s tenure at NEQCA has been his commitment to the Quadruple Aims of better health, better care, lower cost and improved care team satisfaction. We thank him for his leadership, which has measurably benefited our Network’s providers and patients.
