NEQCA Providers: Encourage Parents To Attend IEP For Home Seminar Series

September 25, 2020

NEQCA is pleased to announce The IEP for Home seminar series. All pediatricians and family practice physicians in our Network are encouraged to recommend the series to any parent – particularly those whose children have developmental and behavioral health conditions.

Many children benefit from an Individualized Education Program (IEP) at school. IEP for Home is useful to all children, not only those who have an IEP at school. Parents may use IEP for Home to teach their children the skills that are needed for a successful day at school.

The IEP for Home seminar series provides detailed psychoeducation to parents about the skills that all children need to build. The series also will address the issue of parents-as-teachers, given the prevalence of remote learning during the COVID-19 era. Seminar topics will include:

  1. Positive relationship with parents
  2. Good sleeping habits
  3. Good eating habits
  4. Schedules and routine
  5. Rules
  6. Friendships
  7. Homework

Seminars are scheduled on the following Mondays from 7-8 p.m.:

 2020  2021
 October 5  January 4
 November 2  February 1
 December 7  March 1
   April 12
