Dr. Joseph Frolkis
Dr. Joseph Frolkis is the President and Chief Executive Officer of New England Quality Care Alliance (NEQCA). Before joining NEQCA, Dr. Frolkis served as Director of Primary Care at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. There, his work focused on developing and implementing a team-based model of primary care, pragmatic programs in population health and an effective approach to primary care – specialty care coordination. In this role, Dr. Frolkis recruited 70 primary care physicians and opened three new practices built on the Patient Centered Medical Home model. His other experience includes Chief of Primary Care at the Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland, Clinical Director of Preventive Cardiology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Chief of the Division of General Medicine, Geriatrics, and Health Care Research at University Hospitals of Cleveland and Case Medical School. Dr. Frolkis’ research activities have surrounded the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease, as well as both patient and physician non-adherence with evidence-based treatment guidelines. He received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Boston University, and his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Case Western Reserve University. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American Heart Association.
