NEQCA provides an opportunity for physicians to work together to improve and respond most effectively to changes in the delivery of care, while maintaining control of their practices. In collaboration with our physicians, NEQCA develops programs and resources to ensure network physicians thrive in their practices, while the more than 475,000 patients they treat receive optimal care.

  1. Better Health

At the heart of NEQCA’s efforts is the Quadruple Aim initiative, a concept developed by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) to support healthcare providers to deliver the best care for a population while tightly managing limited healthcare resources and dollars.

  2. Better Care

Inherent to the Quadruple Aim approach is the concept of Treating the Future,SM where NEQCA physicians work with their patients’ lifestyle choices and disease management practices to prevent diseases and complications, effectively improving their health and quality of life into the future.

  3. Lower Cost

NEQCA has positioned itself as a value-driven network, delivering high quality and lower cost care. The network has many years of experience managing medical expense (utilization and costs), identifying opportunities and solutions for optimizing efficiency of quality local care.

  4. Higher Clinician Satisfaction

NEQCA is committed to improving the work life balance of our physicians by reducing administrative burdens and developing new programs to address these challenges.

Our Vision

NEQCA is a partnership of community and academic physicians dedicated to providing comprehensive, innovative, high quality, and affordable health care that brings value to their patients and the community, and expands the teaching and research mission of Tufts Medical Center.

NEQCA’s strategic vision is to be the preferred physician network in the region.  With a focus on fostering relationships with community hospitals, and enabling community and academic physicians to thrive in a data-driven environment, NEQCA seeks to be a leader in the delivery of innovative, high-quality, effective care.

Our Organization

The NEQCA network, founded in 2005 by Tufts Medical Center and Primary Care, LLC as a non-profit corporation, includes solo and group practices, Independent Practice Associations (IPAs), Physician Hospital Organizations, and academic and community physicians.  NEQCA physicians are organized into groups called Local Care Organization (LCOs). LCO physicians are on staff at community hospitals throughout eastern Massachusetts, keeping local care at local hospitals while working with and referring to NEQCA colleagues at Tufts Medical Center and Floating Hospital for Children for tertiary care needs.
